The movie "Hitch" is a great movie. I wanted to watch it for a while, but finally saw it two days ago. The movie had an excellent plot, and i loved the characters. I especially liked the chemistry between Will Smith and Kevin. They are so funny together, and Will smith is way cuter than before. It seems that he hasn't aged a bit. I genuinely fell in love with his character in this movie. He was such a gentleman, and sooo perfect. It makes you think there's still guys like that out there. Hopefully. Loved... Loved... Loved... Loved...Loved this movie. You have to watch it. Ima buy it on dvd, when it comes out. Oh did i say I LOVED!!!!!!!!! this movie. Definitively worth your money. Just when you thought you've gotten over the shock of seeing Ben Affleck make a horse's arse of himself recently, along comes this Will Smith vehicle, Hitch, which Mr. Affleck does not appear in, but the premise could be the same. Will Smith plays Alex "Hitch" Hitchens, a self-described "date coach" who is given the insurmoutable task of turning a loser of a guy (Kevin James) into a ladies' man & but when it comes to Hitch's love life with a magazine writer (Eva Mendes), he's all thumbs. Predicatable to a fault, this is just another disposable romantic comedy in which suffice it to say, the trailer for this was better than the whole film itself. Even then, the trailer reveals how slipshod this production was. If you plan on making this a Valentine's Day date movie remember this sage advice...buyer beware.

What starts off as a funny and amusing premise promising laughs throughout unfortunately fades half way through. Good job by Will Smith as is the norm, although Kevin James steals the show. When we watch James we can see ourselves as we adapt to the dating world. If we can get past the muddled middle of the show then you will be satisfied at the end as all is pulled together.

First, let me say this, if the guy from the tv show 'Wings' deserves an Oscar nomination for his role in 'Sideway'... so does Kevin James (he of 'King of Queens' fame). I'm not saying either does, but I enjoyed Kevin James in 'Hitch' far more than Hayden Church in 'Sideways'. Anyway, back to 'Hitch'... like I said in the title, this is no 'Hotel Rawanda', but it's funny, which most comedies aren't anymore (cough-MeetTheFockers-cough), and when I left the theater I didn't feel like I had wasted my money. Will Smith is good, Kevin James is funny, everyone else is engaging or has the proper charisma, and the fluffy plot never goes too far off course. Plus, I'm a sucker for an ending where everybody dances. Yeah, at first the over used breaking of the 4th wall device (talking straight into the camera) is a little wonky, but it gets better and is relied upon less frequently.

i love this movie! it's been a while since i've seen a movie that was this funny. it is definately a laugh a minute. my friends and i were laughing so hard we almost fell out of our chairs (along with the rest of the audience). this movie was great from being to end, even the end credits were hilarious. after seeing this movie, i don't think any other romantic comedy will top it, EVER. i loved loved loved EVA MENDES and WILL SMITH together, and KEVIN JAMES was great too. i would watch this movie over and over again. PLEASE, GO SEE IT, IT'S WORTH IT!

Now, granted, EVERY romantic comedy I've ever seen is predictable (Boy wins girl, boy loses girl, boy does something crazy to get girl back)and this one's no different. I just haven't enjoyed myself as much in a theater since waaaay back when I first saw 'Coming To America' with Eddie Murphy at his best. Hitch is a smart yet light-hearted movie to take your significant other to see. Lots of laughs and fabulous acting. Will Smith is himself as usual, charming and hilarious, but it was the first-timer, Kevin James, that stole the show. Eva Mendes can do no wrong. (I heard her role was first offered to Jennifer Lopez and Halle Berry so I'm glad the producers chose Miss Mendes. Unlike J.Lo and Berry, Miss Mendes has the ability to look both incredibly beautiful and intelligent in the same shot.) A lot of professional critics have given mixed reviews of the film because that's their job - nitpicking. They feel every single movie that comes out should be contending for the oscars. The best way to enjoy this movie is to go to see it for what it is - a funny date movie. Besides, most of the aforementioned critics are fat and old - Who cares what they think?

Get on and enjoy! Hitch is a great romantic comedy and its all in party by the three main characters, Will Smith, Kevin James and Eva Mendes. Smith plays a love doctor that helps guys get women who would never really give them a chance. There are quite a few funny moments and stick around for the ending (right before the credits). The movie started kinda slow and I became very skeptical quite quickly but once it got going the 2 hour flick went by really quite fast and was a fun journey. It seems most people either get Will Smith's humor or dont. Personally I've been getting good laughs from him since his Fresh Prince of Bellair days moving up through his movie career. For me, Hitch is the perfect summary of Smith's career highlights. Throughout Hitch I found myself laughing beyond control, something that I have been missing since some of Jim Carrey's earlier movies (Ace Ventura),(Dumb and Dumber). I should also point out that I really enjoyed all of Smith's co stars who really made the whole movie gel for me. A great overall flick for comedy fans just in time for Valentine's Day.

Crossover black romantic comedy - Hitch Reviews

It is rare that I go to a romantic comedy and see a racially diverse audience. Usually Black folk go see "Black" romantic comedies and White folks go see "White" romantic comedies. What appealed to me about "Hitch" was that an audience in DC no less was very diverse and yet *all* of us (yes "us") could identify with the characters in the film. Sappy at times, Hitch *still* manages to be a "guy flick" that appeals across race lines *and* across gender lines. Black and White men, Latinos and Latinas were all guffawing at clever lines, site gags and the warmth of the film. I liked it, and in years to come, this film will be hailed as turning point in romantic comedies!

I just came back from watching the movie. This is a great movie. It's outragingly hilarious and also serious at the right moments. The fact it underlines is very true - you got to know the tricks and need to sell yourself to get the attention (and affection) of somebody you love, which is kind of sad but that's how things work in the real world. Coming back to the movie, I don't really care about what the critics have to say. You should go watch this movie to see for yourself. The whole theater was bursting into laughter, and trust me, the jokes were not xxx rated, which in my experience is very rare these days. The cast did a commending job, specially Kevin James. Will Smith was also good. I didn't like Eva Mendes though (she tried to act smart and failed miserably). The direction is very good. To wrap up, a very entertaining movie - funny, romantic and at times serious and sarcastic. And watch out for the dance scene at the end :D
